In partner exercises, roles alternate between attacker and defender, creating interactions that reveal both our own strengths and challenges as well as those of our uke (partner). These exchanges foster reflective synchronization across equal yet different levels.

Karate can be practiced to cultivate virtues such as self-control and humility.

​

In Karate, every action is preceded by the traditional bow, lowering the head as a sign of respect. The very rituals of practice emphasize measuring and controlling impulses, consistently demonstrating a spirit of restraint over aggression, favoring the control and focus of energy instead.
